Why Riding?
Horses can change people for the better, in my opinion, and I have seen firsthand small frightened children, become confident and eager to do more, thanks to a beautiful horse.
A thank-you needs to be said, to Dolly, Star, Buck, Billy and Bo, my lovely gentle riding school horses, that have helped me spread the joy to so many children and adults.
I have had many happy clients over the years. I have seen children from as young as 3 years, start from the beginning and grow up and blossom into great horsemen and women themselves. It is a highlight for me to see their skills grow, and their confidence, not only with the horses but within themselves as they transition into adult hood.
About Mandy
I successfully ran Port Douglas Horse Riding for 12 years, and had the title of number one tourist attraction for many years thanks to Trip Advisor. Reading all the positive and lovely reviews gives me a real sense of achievement.
I have bred and handled my own competition horses and it has been a wonderful experience to have taken them from tiny foals to now majestic horses, not only competing but winning in their respective fields.
My warmblood mare Sandro’s Lilly in her first year of competing in dressage won the Dressage Championship on the Tablelands and in Cairns. It was a great achievement and we have gone on to further competition success.
